Design Thinking Methods for Engagement @ SFU 2015

Category : civic engagement, design thinking, faciliation
Date : November 29, 2015

Design Thinking Methods for Engagement is a one day course as part SFU’s Dialogue and Civic Engagement Certificate. The material was developed by myself and my colleague Marten Sims and supported by the work we’ve done at Emily Carr University and with Vancouver Design Nerds.

The course builds on the belief that everyone is creative, however the tools and confidence to bring creativity into professional engagement settings is lacking. The course sets out to explore what design thinking means and to practice a range of creative methods that can be used to bring people together to better understand and address complex issues.

Below is a selection of slides used through out the day.
